A 37-year-old man has pleaded not guilty after being charged with sexual assault of a child under 13 years old in Lake in the Hills, court records show.

Steven D. West, 37, of the 1-100 block of East Camp McDonald Road in Prospect Heights, was charged with four counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13 and four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim under the age of 18.
The Lake in the Hills Police Department arrested West on March 2 after a warrant had been issued that same day.

A bill of indictment alleges that West sexually abused and sexually assaulted a young girl, under the age of 13, on several occasions between 2010 and 2013.
West has pleaded not guilty to all charges, court records show. The man faces between 6 and 60 years in prison for each Class X felony he is found guilty of.
West remains held in the McHenry County Jail on a $100,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 18 for a trial date status hearing.
