Man Critically Injured In Collision With Tree: Police
The 28-year-old Palatine man sustained life-threatening injuries in the one-vehicle collision in unincorporated Wauconda over the weekend.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 28-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after colliding with a large tree near Wauconda early Saturday, authorities said.
The collision happened at about 4:40 a.m. in the area of Fairfield and Chardon roads when a 2016 GMC Sierra, which was driven by a 28-year-old Palatine man, was headed south on Fairfield and crossed centerline, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
The GMC drove off the east side of the roadway and went over a driveway before colliding head on with a large tree, police said.

The driver was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center with critical, life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
