Muddy Max The Dog Rescued From Lake, Cleaned Up By Fire Crews

LAKE COUNTY, IL — Firefighters rescued a dog that became stuck in the mud of Diamond Lake in recent days.

Max, a large German shepherd mix, got stuck in the mud along the seawall in the lake on May 31, authorities said. The Mundelein Fire Department was called to the area in the 700 block of Diamond Lake Road.

A firefighter got into the water and was able to help get muddy Max unstuck, according to a post on the Mundelein Fire Department Facebook page. A nearby resident then let firefighters use a hose to clean Max up.
