Millie recently underwent a comfort and therapy dog obedience training program at TOPS Kennel, according to village officials.

The canine will assist with public relations activities and community engagement.

Millie will also help with victims’ advocacy, mental health and trauma response.

She will serve as a resource to first responders who may be dealing with stress and the impact of experiences on the job, the village said.

Millie will be handled and cared for by Escobar and live with her family.

“Welcome to Mundelein, Millie!” the village said in a social media post Wednesday.
