Pretrial Release Granted For Man Accused Of Performing Lewd Act Near Libertyville School

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A 31-year-old man faces accused of performing a lewd act while in his vehicle near a Libertyville school has been granted pre-trial release, according to court documents.
Victor A. Rodriguez, 31, was taken into custody on Aug. 12 after the Libertyville Police Department was called to the 300 block of West Rockland Road for a report of a suspicious person inside a car at about 8:20 a.m., according to a news release from police. When they arrived, they found Rodriguez in his car near Highland Middle School, which was not in session at the time.
A passerby reported the incident to police, Libertyville Sgt. Dusan Racic told Patch.

Rodriguez, of Hoffman Estates, was arrested and has been charged with indecent exposure, sexual conduct within 500 feet of a secondary school and indecent exposure, lewd exposure of the body with intent to arouse within 500 feet of a secondary school.
During a court hearing on Aug. 12, Lake County Circuit Court Judge Stephen DeRue granted pretrial release to Rodriguez, according to court documents provided to Patch. As part of his release, he has been ordered not to possess a gun or other dangerous weapon, not to go to any schools or be within 500 feet of any school and not to be around any individuals under the age of 18 years.

He has also been ordered not to have any unsupervised contact with his children, according to court documents.
Following the incident, police are urging residents to remain vigilant and to immediately report any suspicious persons, vehicles, or activities to the police.
"Your timely reports help ensure the safety and security of our community," police said.
Rodriguez is next expected in court on Aug. 21.
