School District 73 Appoints Newest Board Member
District 73's newest board member has been working in the software and technical field for over two decades.

VERNON HILLS, IL — Hawthorn School District 73 has a new Board of Education member, according to a release from the district. Vernon Hills resident George Fievet III was appointed at a Jan. 14 board meeting. His appointment fills the vacancy left by Julie Simpson, who resigned in Dec. 2018.
“We are so pleased to have an IT leader with more than 20 years of experience join our team,” said Hawthorn District 73 Interim Superintendent Mark Friedman. “He will hit the ground running as we move into the second half of the school year.”
As of now, he's scheduled to serve until April 2, 2019, the date Simpson's term was up. He's filed to run for a four-year term.
