
Libertyville Police announced the results of their Memorial Day impaired driver and seat belt enforcement campaign, which took place from May 10 to May 27.
In addition to normal patrols, Libertyville Police utilized grant funding to deploy officers on eight separate “saturation patrols” to increase enforcement efforts against impaired drivers as well as motorists and passengers not wearing seat belts.
During this period, Libertyville Police Officers conducted 236 traffic stops. As a result ofthose traffic stops:
- Eight arrests for DUI
- 23 citations for not wearing seat belt
- Four arrests for Driving While License Suspended or Revoked
- Five arrests for No Drivers License
- 46 citations for speeding were issued
- 19 citations for no proof of valid vehicle insurance were issued
- One citation for transporting open alcohol
- Two citations for texting while driving
- One citation for using a wireless device in a school zone
- One citation for using a wireless device in a construction zone
- One citation for passing a school bus while unloading students
- One arrest for Aggravated Driving While License Revoked (felony)
- numerous other equipment and moving violation citations were also issued
