SUV Stolen From Driveway, Cars Rummaged Through In Libertyville
The Libertyville Police Department is reminding residents to lock their car doors to prevent more burglaries and vehicle thefts in town.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Authorities in Libertyville are investigating the theft of a sports utility vehicle from a driveway in town as well as several burglaries to motor vehicles that happened in the past week.
The Libertyville Police Department was called to the 100 block of Woodland Road for a report of a 2021 Kia Celts that was stolen during the early morning hours of March 30 from a driveway. Two other vehicles in the driveway were also rummaged through, police said.
Police later found the SUV in a neighboring driveway on Woodland Road. The vehicle was not occupied, and the steering column was damaged, according to a news release from the Libertyville Police Department.

Several more vehicles were reportedly rummaged through, car doors left open and the interior contents in disarray during the early morning hours of March 30 on Woodland Road. The owners of the cars did not report anything missing from the vehicles.
Residents in Libertyville are reminded to lock their vehicles and remove any valuables, including keys and key fobs, and police are also reminding residents to make sure the doors to their garages and residences are locked, especially at night.
