Tests Showed Alcohol, THC In Driver Of I-94 Trooper Crash
NBC 5 said according to reports, the tests showed THC and the prescription medication Promethazine were also present in Dan Davies' system.

GREEN OAKS, IL — Dan Davies, the 44-year-old man authorities said was driving the wrong way on I-94, just east of the IL-176 exit when he hit Illinois State Trooper Gerald Ellis head-on March 30, had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system at the time of the crash, NBC 5 reported. According to the news report, the Lake County Coroner’s Office received reports last week showing Davies blood alcohol level was .169 at the time of the crash. NBC 5 said according to the reports, the tests also showed the presence of THC (active ingredient in marijuana), and the prescription medication Promethazine, a drug used to relieve allergic reactions and at times common cold symptoms, and that alcohol can exaggerate the drug's side effects.

The Illinois Secretary of State's Office said they can't find any evidence Davies ever received a driver's license. However, Davies, who authorities say had one of the worst driving records in the state of Illinois, did receive more than 70 tickets and "suspensions," and he was stopped by police dozens of times, repeatedly cited for driving without a license, according to the news report.
