Waukegan Man In Jail After Selling Heroin In School Zone: Sheriff
The sheriff's office reports the man sold heroin to an undercover detective while they were within 500 feet of a Waukegan school.

WAUKEGAN, IL — The Lake County Sheriff's Office Gang Task Force arrested a Waukegan man Wednesday as the result of an undercover operation involving heroin sales in a school zone. The sheriff's office said 19-year-old Kevaughn D. Bridges-Butler, of the 100 block of Philippa Street, sold heroin on several occasions to an undercover Gang Task Force Detective, during which two of those sales took place within 500 feet of a Waukegan school, while school was in session.
Following a sale on April 3 Bridges-Butler was taken into custody without incident, the sheriff's office said.
Bridges-Butler was charged with two felony counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, one felony count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and four felony counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, according to the sheriff's office.

“Selling drugs is bad enough, selling them near a school is downright revolting," Lake County Sheriff John Idleburg said, in a release. "Here is another example of someone who hasn’t been paying attention to our numerous warnings – if you sell drugs in Lake County, we will find you and we will arrest you.”
The sheriff's office said Bridges-Butler is being held at the Lake County Jail pending an initial court hearing Thursday.
