Bicycle Burglars Break Into Lincoln Park Businesses
Chicago Police are warning business owners and residents about a string of somewhat unusual burglaries that recently occurred in Lincoln Park and one other area of the city.

Chicago Police are asking residents to keep a look out for burglars targeting bicycle stores in two of the city's districts, one of which includes Lincoln Park.
They sent a "commercial burglary alert" Saturday to those in the department's 1st and 18th policing districts. There's been an uptick, they said, in crimes that involve a burglar, or burglars, who break glass on front doors in order to "remove expensive bicycles from the location."
The two local incidents were reported in the neighborhood's Market Square Shopping Center located in the 2100 block of North Clybourn Avenue. One was at 4:20 a.m. on July 7 and the other, 3:20 a.m. on July 12.

Investigators are asking business owners to spread the word about the crimes and remember to lock their doors and windows. Their video surveillance system and any alarms they have should be activated, cops say.
"Call 911 to report any suspicious person, vehicles, or activity near your business or residence," the alert said, adding that witnesses should be ready to provide detailed descriptions of possible suspects, including vehicle information.Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to call the Bureau of Detectives, Area Central at 312-747-8384. The cases' reference number is P13-1-153.
