Crime Map: Alleyway Public Indecency, Sex Assault, Prostitution

Aggravated Battery

• Police say an aggravated battery occurred shortly before midnight in the hallway of a residence in the 2200 block of North Fremont Street.

Burglaries

• A burglar, or burglars, reportedly broken into a home around 7:30 a.m. in the 2200 block of North Sedgwick Street.

• Someone burglarized an apartment in the 700 block of West Fullerton Avenue around 11 a.m.

• Another resident of the block reported a burglary around 8:30 a.m. that day.

• Police say residents of an apartment in the 2000 block of North Fremont Street reported a break-in around 10:50 a.m.

• A break-in was reported shortly after midnight in the 2700 block of North Lincoln Avenue, police said. The report did not specify whether it was a home, apartment or business.

• A resident of the 2000 block of North Sheffield Avenue reported a break-in around 10:10 p.m., police said.

• Police say someone broke into a construction site in the 2200 block of North Clybourn Avenue around 5 p.m.

• An apartment burglary was reported around 12:45 p.m. in the 2600 block of North Halsted Street.

Criminal Sexual Assault

• A criminal sexual assault was reported around 11:30 p.m. at a residence in the 1900 block of North Lincoln Park West.

Motor Vehicle Thefts

• A resident reported a motor vehicle theft around 7 p.m. The vehicle was parked on the street in the 700 block of West Belden Avenue.

• Around 3 a.m., a motor vehicle theft was reported in the 1300 block of West Diversey Parkway.

• A motor vehicle theft was reported around 10 p.m. in the 900 block of West Concord Place, police said. The car was parked on the street.

• Someone reported a motor vehicle theft around 6 p.m. in the 2600 block of North Bosworth Avenue. 

• A motor vehicle theft was reported around 10 a.m. in the 2100 block of North Bissell Street.

• Around 6 a.m., someone reported a motor vehicle theft in the 2600 block of North Orchard Street.

Prostitution 

• Police say a commercial business in the 1900 block of West Diversey Parkway was "keeping a place of prostitution." A charge was filed around 8 p.m.

Robberies 

• A robber armed with a handgun robbed a victim around 2:10 a.m. on a sidewalk in the 2200 block of North Bissell Street. 

• An aggravated robbery was reported around 9:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of North Kenmore Avenue. It occurred in the street, police said.

• A separate incident that day was reported around 1:50 p.m. on a sidewalk in the 2100 block of North Clifton Avenue. No weapon was used, according to the report.

• A strong-armed robbery that did not involve a weapon was reported in the 2500 block of North Wayne Avenue around 2:15 a.m. The incident occurred on a sidewalk, the report says.

• Police say a man was robbed in the 1000 block of West Webster Avenue around 10:10 p.m. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun.

Public Indecency

• Police say a public indecency incident was reported around 7:50 a.m. in an alley in the 2000 block of North Sheffield Avenue. The crime is classified as a criminal sexual abuse.

Simple Assault 

• Police say a simple assault occurred around 4:30 p.m. in a residential front yard in the 2700 block of North Lakewood Avenue.

Weapons Violation

• Police say an unlawful use/sale of a weapon was reported around 7:50 p.m. at a restaurant in the 2400 block of North Lincoln Avenue.
