Chicago's Second My Fit Foods in Chicago Opens on North (PHOTOS)
The Texas-based company is zeroing in on Chicago, brining its half grocery store, half takeout restaurant concept to new spaces in Old Town/Lincoln Park and Lake View.
One of the Midwest and Chicago's first My Fit Foods opened up shop Saturday on North Avenue, claiming a storefront formerly occupied by Salon 1800.
Located at 157 W. North Ave. near Wells Street, the shop is one of three new My Fit Foods storefronts planned for Chicago. Another also opened Saturday at 3701 N. Halsted St. in nearby Lake View, across from Whole Foods, and the third remained under wraps as of Monday.
The trio will join close to 60 other My Fit Foods in five other states.
The store is run like a cross between a takeout restaurant and grocery store, where fresh meals focused on health are whipped up daily.Â
And with personal trainer and My Fit Foods founder Mario Mendias touting that 80 percent of all weight loss results are due to diet, the store is aiming to make healthy living easier.
