Crime Map: 8 Burglaries in 6 Days

Burglaries, aggravated assault and battery incidents were among crimes reported within Lincoln Park between May 16 and May 22.

Aggravated Batteries


THURSDAY, MAY 16

  • An aggravated battery using hands, fists and feet and causing serious injuries was reported at 12:55 a.m. in the 2200 block of North Halsted Street.
  • An aggravated battery using an unspecified, dangerous weapon was reported around 12:20 a.m. at a bar or tavern in the 900 block of West Armitage Avenue.

Burglaries


THURSDAY, MAY 16

A burglar entered an apartment in the 1100 block of West Altgeld Avenue around 2 a.m.

SUNDAY, MAY 19

Someone broke into a department store in the 900 block of West North Avenue around 3:18 a.m., according to police.

MONDAY, MAY 20

  • A break-in was reported around 7:30 p.m. to a residence in the 1600 block of North Dayton Street.
  • A burglary was reported around midnight to a garage in the 1800 block of North Fremont Street.

TUESDAY, MAY 21

  • Police said someone burglarized an apartment in the 2600 block of North Halsted Street around 7:30 a.m.
  • A burglar tried breaking into an apartment around 1:25 p.m. in the 2100 block of North Sheffield Avenue.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 22

  • An apartment was burglarized shortly before 6 a.m. in the 1600 block of North Hudson Avenue, police said.
  • Around 2:50 p.m., a homeowner reported a burglary to his or her residence in the 600 block of West Deming Place.

Robberies


FRIDAY, MAY 17

A strong-armed robbery that didn’t include a weapon was reported around 11:55 p.m. on a sidewalk in the 900 block of West Wrightwood Avenue.

MONDAY, MAY 20

A suspect armed with a handgun robbed a victim in the 1600 block of North Cleveland Avenue around 2 a.m.

TUESDAY, MAY 21

  • A strong-armed robbery that didn’t include a weapon was reported around 1:40 a.m. at a Chicago Transit Authority stop in the 900 block of West Fullerton Avenue.
  • A strong-armed robbery was also reported around 4:30 a.m. at the same CTA stop.

Simple Assaults


FRIDAY, MAY 17

  • A simple assault was reported around 10:15 a.m. at a Chicago Housing Authority Apartment in the 2700 block of North Hoyne Avenue.
  • Police said someone was assaulted around 3 p.m. in the hallway of a CHA building in the 1800 block of North Larrabee Street.

TUESDAY, MAY 21

An assault was reported around 10:05 a.m. in an alleyway in the 1700 block of North Clybourn Avenue.

Simple Battery


SUNDAY, MAY 19

A battery was reported around 10 p.m. at a restaurant in the 2600 block of North Clark Street.

MONDAY, MAY 20

  • A battery was reported around 2:45 a.m. on a sidewalk in the 1600 block of West Fullerton Avenue.
  • Police said a battery occurred around 11:45 a.m. in a residential yard in the 2300 block of North Clybourn Avenue.
