Faith & Whiskey Shutters, Only to Reopen With Something 'New and Extra'

Popular Fullerton Avenue rock bar, Faith & Whiskey, has closed. But something new is in store for the space, sources suggest.

If you've walked by laid-back Lincoln Park rock bar, Faith & Whiskey lately, you may have noticed something a little bit different.

Missing is the crimson "Faith & Whiskey" sign. Replacing it is a black one emblazoned "Arrogant Frog" in gold print. What's going on inside the bar at 1365 W. Fullerton Ave. remains a bit of a mystery, as messages left last week for owners were still unreturned as of Monday.

But social media reveals some clues. The Faith & Whiskey Facebook web address, for example, has been changed to Arrogant Frog Bar. Administrators' last activity on the page is dated Feb. 18.

A Faith & Whiskey Tweet dated June 10 responds to a follower who asked if the bar was shuttering.

He said he saw the original sign being taken down on the evening of May 28, to which the bar's representatives said, "Yes, being reopened in the coming weeks with a little something new and something extra."

Faith & Whiskey opened in 2009 after Hunter Cannon, who closed Ta'Too, was left with random bottles of whiskey and scotch. It was decorated with rock star photos and black details.
