High-End Consignment Boutique Expands Beyond Lincoln Park, Wicker Park

A high-end consignment boutique praised by Lincoln Park shoppers is preparing to open its third Chicago location in nearby Lake View, featuring designer brands like Louis Vuitton, Prada and Tory Burch.

Second Time Around recently put a “Coming Soon!” sign in the window of 3709 N. Southport Ave. It will join more than 40 STA stores in 12 states including those in Lincoln Park and Wicker Park. The company’s CEO Bill Soncini says there could be room for five more in Chicago.

When the company opened in Wicker Park in February of 2012, it only had 29 stores. But with STA rapidly expanding, Southport is next on the list. 

“STA has set up shop on Chicago's rising Southport Avenue,” the company’s website reads. “Joining the ranks of other big retailers on the block, this location has everything a Chicago native or traveler could want. From Tory Burch accessories to Louis Vuitton handbags to Zara basics, you'll never leave empty-handed!"

A representative with STA did not immediately return Patch’s phone call for a comment. However, with 50,000 active consignors across the nation, shoppers can expect name brands like Hermes, Manolo Blahnik and Marc Jacobs.

The 40-year-old New England-based company only sells women’s clothing, accessories, handbags, jewelry, shoes and merchandise. That means men searching for a fashion fix will have to look elsewhere.

And those looking to sell their high-end duds can set up an appointment with the store to review the items for consignment. Owners get 40 percent of the selling price, and it only stays on the shelves for 90 days.

STA joins neighboring new business Katie B’s, which is slated to open yet in July. It also is on the same block as Leahay & Ladue Consignment at 3753 N. Southport.
