'Kidical' Mass Bike Ride to Roll Through Lincoln Park

Looking for a fun way to spend time with family this Sunday? We've got an idea for you.

When it comes to children's biking, safety is critical—Ahem. I mean "kidical."

That's precisely the message of Kidical Mass, a nationwide movement that urges parents and children to ride bikes together.

The group—its name is a nod to well-known bicycle advocacy group, Critical Mass—already organizes monthly rides in Logan Square, Hyde Park and Lincoln Square. But this Sunday, it's rolling through Lincoln Park.

Local 43rd Ward Ald. Michele Smith gave the event a shoutout in her most recent newsletter.

She says the bike ride will last about one hour and will showcase the neighborhood.

"Bring the whole family ... " she said. "All levels of bikes are invited, including training wheels!"

Those wanting to participate should meet at Oz Park Playground at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 14. The ride will depart at 10 a.m.
