New Jewish Delicatessen Opening Next Week on Clark

A popular South Loop restaurant is opening a second location right here in Lincoln Park. Although plans for the diner were announced in January, an opening date hasn't been set until recently.

A popular South Loop delicatessen's sister diner is opening next week in Lincoln Park.

Eleven City Diner is set to open June 25 at 2301 N. Clark St. in the Belden Centre, according to the Dining Chicago. Plans for the venture first went public in January.

Brad Rubin, owner of Eleven City Diner, is bringing the Jewish delicatessen to the Neighborhood.

"Growing up in Chicago and traveling by car and motorbike throughout all 50 states since I was a kid gave me an insatiable taste and respect for this food and culture," Rubin says, on his website, in reference to the "old-school diner" atmosphere. "A casual family restaurant is the cornerstone of a great Chicago neighborhood."

The local diner comprises 5,200 square feet and boasts a 14-page menu including classic comforts like matzo ball soup, latkes and Reuben sandwiches. 

Customers can also expect the original location's nostalgic motif, including a full soda fountain setup and oversized booths.
