A popular Old Town bakery will soon open a second location by the same name in Lincoln Park.
La Fournette Bakery & Cafe, 1547 N. Wells St., has secured a spot on Clark Street near Fullerton Avenue, according to Crain's Chicago Business.
A family affair, Michele Zimmermann owns the bakery with her husband, Pierre. Crain's reports that Jacquy Pfeiffer and Sebastien Canonne—hailing from a French Pastry School—are also in the mix.
The Zimmermanns' sons help on the bakery side while Michele runs the "front of the house," the eatery's Facebook page indicates.
"La Fournette’s products are respectful of the seasons and local produce," it says. "The most of the breads are made with natural sourdough starters, a slower process that results in superior flavor and texture."

The cafe's founding bakery can be found in Schnersheim, France.
"All of the products are made in our own bakery which was designed to be energy efficient and operate with minimal waste," its website says.
"The Zimmermanns spent years researching and planning before opening La Fournette to ensure that their customers in Chicago would enjoy the same quality and small-town welcome that they did in Schnersheim."
The new Lincoln Park space will be smaller than the one in Old Town, according to the story, and will accommodate about 10 people inside around 25 on its outdoor patio.
The French bakery rang in its first anniversary in Old Town on July 14—also Bastille Day.
Lincoln Park's cafe should open within the next few weeks.
