Police Warn Residents of Halsted Street Home Break-ins

The Chicago Police Department's 18th District has issued an alert about two recent Lincoln Park home break-ins.

Police are looking to residents for help finding the culprits of multiple recent Lincoln Park burglaries. 

They issued an alert late last week regarding the incidents. One occurred June 3 in the 1800 block of North Halsted Street between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. The other, the 1700 block of North Halsted Street on June 10 between 7:30 a.m. and 7:45 p.m.

Both burglaries included the use of a pry bar or other device to get into the front door, says the alert, which came from the Chicago Police Department's 18th District.

Police did not have a description of the suspects as of Sunday.

  • Be aware of the crimes and alert other neighbors in the area.
  • Remember to lock doors and windows and activate the alarm and video surveillance system if you have one on the premises.
  • Call 911 to report any suspicious people, vehicles or activity near your business or residence.
  • Call 911 and provide a detailed description of the offender, or offenders, including any vehicle description and license plate information.
