Your Guide to This Weekend's Wells Street Arts Festival
There's no shortage of festivals in Chicago this weekend, including the popular Ribfest in nearby Northcenter. Even closer to home is the 39th Annual Wells Street Arts Festival. Let Patch be your one-stop-shop for navigating the Old Town grounds.

The early summer art extravaganza is back this weekend for its 39th year on the eponymous strip of Wells Street between North Avenue and Division Street in nearby Old Town.
The festival's hours are from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. It features pieces from more than 250 juried artists with an eclectic mix running the gamut from paintings, sculptures and glasswork to photography, ceramics, woodwork and much more.
New this year, work will include some from student artists in high school and college, according to a news release from Special Events Management, the company that helps coordinate the event.

Pop legend Sophie B. Hawkins, Alt-rockers, "The Smithereens"
and The Voice's Todd Kessler, are among the weekend's special guests.
The festival also boasts kid-friendly activities—such as Emerald City Theatre's "Munchkinland" and Old Town cuisine from restaurants including The Fireplace Inn, Bistrot Margot, Kamehachi, Trattoria Roma, Dinotto Ristorante, Tiparos, Orso's, Adobo Grill and O'Brien's.
A portion of the money made will benefit the Old Town Merchants & Residents Association, coordinators said.
