First Lincoln Square Great Clips Opens July 27

The hair chain has more than 3,300 salons in the United States and Canada, and will open soon in the neighborhood.

An international hair salon is close to taking down its “Coming Soon” signs in a Lawrence Avenue storefront.

Great Clips is opening Saturday, July 27 in The Square Plaza, at 2321 W. Lawrence Ave. Sandwiched between a 7-Eleven and Super Nails, the space formerly housed the Balkan Restaurant

The company obtained a business permit on April 26, with construction continuing into July.

For the first eight weeks of business, the salon is offering $5.99 haircuts, owner Phyllis Frick said in an email to Patch. After that, cuts will range from $11 for children and seniors to $13 for adults.

The Lincoln Square location is the second Great Clips salon for Frick and her husband, John, with their first venture in downtown Chicago at the Presidential Towers.

"We are very excited about being in Lincoln Square and look forward to serving and being a part of the community," Frick said.
