Free Sports Bash to Banish Back to School Blues
A neighborhood garden walk, retro festival and back to school sports bash are just the beginning of this weekend's festivities.

Take a tour of the neighborhood's best gardens during the ninth annual Lincoln Square Garden Walk. Saturday from 1 until 5 p.m., tour through gorgeous greenery created by local residents.
Tickets are $5 in advance and $7.50 the day of the event with proceeds going to Waters Elementary School.
Coffee and Conversation with Lincoln Square Elected OfficialsThree North Side officials will meet will constituents at an informal meeting Saturday morning. Congressman Mike Quigley, State Rep. Greg Harris and Ald. Ameya Pawar will be at Beans and Bagels, 1812 W. Montrose Ave. starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
Chase Park Back to School Sports Bash
Got the backpack blues? The Chase Park Advisory Council and We Got Game are partnering for a free community sports event. From tots hockey to yoga, kids of all ages are welcome out to Chase Park, 4701 N. Ashland Ave. from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Get the whole family involved in the parent/kid kickball game and sack race relay.
Retro on Roscoe
Roscoe Village will turn in to a Generation X haven Saturday and Sunday for the annual Retro on Roscoe festival.
The music, food and craft event will span six blocks at Damen and Roscoe from noon to 10 p.m.
Three stages of music combines for decades of entertainment. Artists range from country’s Chasin’ Mason to the Chicago favorite, 16 Candles.

Ecuadorian Independence Day Parade
Follow the Andean music down Montrose Avenue this weekend at the Ecuador Independence Day Parade, right in your neighborhood!
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, starting at noon, the festivities will make its way from Kimball to California, to celebrate the day that sparked the movement for an independent Ecuador.
