Rain Doesn't Slow Lederhosen-Sporting, Stein-Drinking Maifest Partiers

This past weekend's Mayfest—or "Maifest" in German—wasn't hampered by the occasional rain storm.

Lincoln Square was among neighborhoods kicking off the summer festival season over the weekend by way of its 13th Annual Maifest Chicago.

Held May 30 to June 2 at Lincoln and Leland avenues, Mayfest—or "Maifest" in German—wasn't hampered by the occasional rain storm.

Although attendance to the event was a bit lower than usual on Friday night, the grounds were packed on Saturday—particularly beneath the shelter of the beer tents during a 10-minute deluge.

A pending work week didn't stop festival goers on Sunday, either. They flocked to the area to enjoy one last beer from das boot before getting back to the grind.
