Authentic Italian food lovers can stay in the neighborhood with Lincoln Square’s Due Lire. Chicagoist took a trip to the intimate restaurant, located at 4520 North Lincoln, and fell in love.
Writer Melissa Wiley raved about Due Lire, saying, “It is all you would expect from your long-lost Sicilian grandmother and more.”
She complimented the friendly staff and that proprietor Massimo Di Vuiolo served her table himself.

Three other Lincoln Square eateries received recognition from the all-powerful internet this week. Chicago Metromix listed the “hidden gems” of Lincoln Square, featuring The Red Lion, Chubby Wieners and Amy’s Candy Bar.
Despite a pervy innuendo, Chubby Wieners is actually named after the owner’s Uncle Chub. But that doesn’t mean their hot dogs are small. The special is a 7-inch hot dog, an inch in diameter. Small mouths not invited.

The Red Lion earned recognition with its traditional British pub grub and décor from local artists.
And for the second week in a row, Amy’s Candy Bar rocks the web with its hand-crafted sweets and imported candy. Oh, and they have a cupcake of the day.
