Reviews Around the Web: Goosefoot Earns Best New Restaurant

Lincoln Square has the best new restaurant in Goosefoot at 2656 West Lawrence Avenue, according to Chicago Magazine. 

The magazine listed their Top 20 restaurants that opened in the past 12 months and despite more press around the ticket-necessary Next, Goosefoot pulled the No. 1 slot. 

“It’s more inclusive, more fun, less of a pain in the ass,” they said about Chris Nugent’s creation, a bring-your-own-beverage restaurant.

Goosefoot offers an eight and 12-course prix fixe menu with French and contemporary tastes.

Both Amy’s Candy Bar and Gene’s Sausage Shop and Delicatessen received five-star reviews on Yelp this week.

One reviewer said Amy’s Candy Bar was a cute shop with a selection that stretched throughout time.

Another said Gene’s Sausage was a dream.

“When I go to Gene’s, I like to pretend I’m in Europe somewhere, fawning over jars of pickled something and smoked sausage,” Melanie B. wrote.
