Violent Crimes Less Frequent in Lincoln Square than Most Chicago Communities
The community had four reports of violent crimes between Aug. 30 and Sept. 29, earning it one of the lowest rates in Chicago.

Lincoln Square ranked in the bottom 10 of Chicago’s 77 communities for violent crimes, according to a database published by the Chicago Tribune.
The neighborhood had .1 violent crimes per 1,000 people, tying with Forest Glen and Dunning. Clearing and Edison Park were both at zero.
Fuller Park had the most violent crimes at 4.8 per 1,000 residents.

The Chicago Police Department defines violent crimes as robbery, battery, assault, homicide or criminal sexual assault.
From Aug. 30 to Sept. 29, Lincoln Square had four reports of violent crimes: three robberies and one assault, according to the Tribune’s data.

While violent crimes were low, 91 property crimes occurred in that time period, totaling 2.3 per 1,000 people. In property crimes, Lincoln Square ranks 50th out of Chicago’s 77 communities.
Quality of life crimes are defined as criminal damage, narcotics and prostitution. The area had 30 of these reported: 20 criminal damage, 6 narcotics and 1 prostitution between Aug. 30 and Sept. 29.
