West Montrose Closed at Rockwell Until Friday
Ward 47 Ald. Ameya Pawar's office's sent out an email about the closure, which is due to a problem with the natural gas main.
West Montrose Avenue has been closed at North Rockwell Street because of issues with the natural gas main, according to an email blast sent by Ward 47 Ald. Ameya Pawar's office.
Detours are in place and the No. 78 Montrose bus has been temporarily rerouted. The road is expected to open by Friday.
"Peoples Gas determined that there were problems with their natural gas main at this location and the closure of the road is necessary to complete emergency repairs," the email read.

The closure stretches across the 2600 block of West Montrose Avenue.
