Hydrant Flushing Program Begins This Week

The Village's Public Works Department will be conducting its annual hydrant-flushing program through Friday.

The Village’s Public Works Department will be conducting its annual hydrant-flushing program Monday, August 24th through Friday, August 28th. Hydrant flushing is a preventative maintenance measure the Village takes to remove accumulated minerals and other deposits that collect in water mains naturally over time.

Flushing hydrants on a regular basis is a way to safeguard the Village’s investment in its infrastructure by extending the useful service life of system components. Hydrant flushing also improves the quality of water supplied to water customers and ensures hydrants are working properly.
