Parking Ordinance Reminder, Winter Weather Safety: Lisle Police

LISLE, IL — Due to the anticipated heavy snow and dangerous cold temperatures expected this week, the Lisle Police Department wants community members to ensure their family, car and home are ready for the winter weather. According to police, with light snow and freezing rain "drizzle" expected the rest of Monday, this is a good time to remind everyone of the Village ordinance regarding on-street parking when snow accumulates, in order to help snow plows clear the roadways.

The Village reminds everyone to not park any vehicle in the road following a snowfall of 1” or greater.

Other winter weather safety reminders from police and Protect DuPage via US National Weather Service Chicago Illinois:

• Cars - check: Battery, coolant, tires, have jumper cables and blanket handy/packed.
• Home - check: Furnace, chimneys, carbon-monoxide detector, and have exposed pipes insulated.
• Pets - prep: Bring them inside, provide shelter and fresh water, and keep salt away from paws.
• Outdoors- prep: Dress for the winter conditions, limit your time outside, check on others, and watch for signs of frostbite or hypothermia.
