Public Invited To Review, Submit Comment On Stormwater Master Plan
The Village is in the process of identifying and prioritizing capital improvement projects that will improve residential drainage.
Developing a stormwater master plan is the process of identifying and prioritizing capital improvement projects that will improve residential stormwater drainage. The plan, which covers a period of ten years, will identify drainage conditions throughout the Village and efforts that can be made to improve those conditions. Undertaking this process includes reviewing past drainage studies, completed projects, related documentation, and an inventory of watersheds.
To assist the Village in the conduct of this work, the Village has contracted with Engineering Resources Associates (ERA). ERA has subsequently identified, reviewed, and prioritized areas of localized flooding that have impacts on both private properties and public rights-of-way throughout the Village. This work also included the use of topographic maps, utility atlases, field visits, issues raised by residents and businesses, as well as floodplain data, in an effort to identify areas in need of examination.
