USA Today Ranks 'Illumination: Tree Lights' Among Top 10 Displays

LISLE, IL — Morton Arboretum was recently recognized by USA Today as one of the top 10 botanical gardens with a holiday lights display. Illumination: Tree Lights came in at number six, ranking higher than displays in California, Florida and Arkansas.

“Illumination continues to garner national attention as a non-traditional holiday light experience where the trees, rather than the lights, are the stars of the show,” Morton Arboretum's head of exhibitions, Amy Scott, commented in a statement.

This year's event dazzles with 18 festive displays, two of which are brand new. The displays that debuted 2023 include a LED tall grass with kinetic lighting and a path illuminated by stars.

The top botanical gardens lights displays were selected by bloggers, travel writers and other experts. The winners were narrowed down by USA Today readers.

USA Today wrote, "Illumination: Tree Lights at The Morton Arboretum in the Chicago area lights up each holiday season with a mile-long walking path of dazzling lights and music. Visitors can also enjoy the warmth of a fire as they roast marshmallows for s'mores."
