1 Found Shot Inside Manhattan Home, No Threat To Public: Police

MANHATTAN, IL — A woman was found shot inside a home in Manhattan's Brookstone Springs subdivision Sunday afternoon, police said.

Initial emergency calls reported a barricaded subject inside a home on Spring Street, prompting a heavy police presence and emergency response, said Manhattan Police Chief Ryan Gulli.

A woman was found inside the home, critically injured with a gunshot wound. Preliminary investigation indicates the incident involved one party, police said.

There is no threat to the public.
