Manhattan's Bike With A Cop, Bike Giveaway Set For Saturday

The event will be held June 15 in the Village Hall parking lot, from 9 a.m. to noon.

MANHATTAN, IL — Manhattan police will hold a different kid of "ride-along," Saturday, June 15, with local kids invited to bike with cops.

The Manhattan Police Department's 2nd annual Bike With a Cop will feature a bike ride with police officers through a nearby subdivision, a raffle for 23 bicycles and safety equipment, and more.

Set for 9 a.m. to noon June 15 in the parking lot of Village Hall, 260 Market Pl., the event will also include a safety presentation and bicycle course. A 10–15 minute ride will be capped off with pizza, pop, doughnuts, popsicles and water.

Those interested in attending should RSVP to Sgt. Jimmy Redlich, at jredlich@villageofmanhattan.org. RSVP should include name and number of riders.
