'This Is Not Him': Search Ongoing For Missing Manhattan Man
Anthony Fehrenbacher hasn't been seen since May 26 and relatives said there was no sign of him when police did a wellness check on his home.

MANHATTAN, IL — A 47-year-old lifelong resident of Manhattan remains missing a week after his family said he was last heard from, and his disappearance has his loved ones very concerned.
Anthony Fehrenbacher was last seen at around 7 p.m. on May 26, his sister, Liz, told Patch on Friday, when someone reported seeing him on a walk. But the fact he hasn’t been heard from since has his family concerned, a day after his wife asked Manhattan Police to conduct a wellness check at his home Thursday night.
Anthony Fehrenbacher is about 6 feet tall and has a slim build and dark hair peppered with gray, his sister said. Liz Fehrenbacher told Patch that her brother told her he has been depressed as he goes through a divorce.

Liz said that the father of three just disappearing “isn’t like him.”
She said that she was contacted by Manhattan Police on Thursday night after they went to her brother’s home and could not find him. She said that a phone is inside the house, but they are not certain whose phone it is. Liz Fehrenbacher said that if her brother was going out for a walk, he may have chosen to leave his phone behind.

Liz Fehrenbacher said they had been attempting to reach her brother since Wednesday and cannot reach him. But the fact that he has three children, including a daughter who is finishing the sixth grade on Friday, makes his disappearance even more concerning.
“I don’t have a good feeling about this — I don’t know how it’s going to end,” Liz Fehrenbacher told Patch on Friday. “My gut is telling me that it’s not going to be good.”
She added, “If his kids would have called him, he would have answered. He’s not going to go all these days without talking to his kids. It’s not going to happen… he loves his kids, he adores them. I mean, he’s a dad. …This is not him at all. It’s just not him.”
Anyone with information about Anthony Fehrenbacher’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Manhattan Police Department at (815) 478-4408.
