MANHATTAN, IL — Services have been set for Paxton Ledvina, the 2-year-old son of Manhattan firefighter Dylan Ledvina and wife Ava.

Paxton died unexpectedly Dec. 8. The Manhattan Fire Protection District and community as a whole have rallied to uplift the family, raising $73,000 through a GoFundMe started for the family. Dylan Ledvina is known throughout the area for his contributions as president of the fire district's Project Fire Buddies chapter, work that has endeared him to many.

A former NICU warrior, Paxton is described as "a kid on the move" who "started his day with a kiss and hug for mom and dad and didn't stop moving until naptime or bedtime." He was deeply adored by his family and all who knew him, his obituary reads.
