• Gotion under fire at Manteno meeting (shawlocal.com) — Manteno officials pressed Gotion this week over fire safety preparations at its Spruce Street manufacturing plant, with trustees demanding key protections be finished before a temporary occupancy permit expires in January. Consultants said the company has largely complied, but residents packed the meeting to voice broader frustrations about the project and urge village leaders not to extend any deadlines. 
• Manteno, Momence boys win at home, Watseka/Milford girls take 6th straight: Wednesday's Daily Journal Roundup (shawlocal.com) — Manteno boys basketball snapped a two-game skid with a convincing 52–23 home win over Iroquois West, led by double-digit scoring from Dylan Polito and Eric Eldridge. The roundup also highlights a strong Momence boys victory and a sixth straight win for the Watseka/Milford girls, giving local fans a quick look at how neighboring teams are faring.
