• Person of Interest Detained in Dual Cahokia Heights Homicides (riverbender.com) — A 67-year-old Maryville man, Bruce Mason, has been identified as one of two homicide victims linked to a shooting on Walnut Street in Cahokia Heights, and a person of interest is now in custody. Investigators say Mason died after being transported to a hospital, while a 44-year-old East St. Louis woman was later found shot to death in a related search. Authorities have followed more than 75 leads and are still seeking tips.
