• St. Louis Children's Hospital patients design cleats for Brady Cook (firstalert4.com) — An 8-year-old oncology patient from Mattoon helped design special cleats for former Mizzou quarterback and current New York Jets player Brady Cook through St. Louis Children’s Hospital’s art therapy program. She teamed up with a young patient from Fenton, Missouri, and the custom cleats will be worn in the NFL’s My Cause My Cleats initiative before being auctioned to benefit the hospital.
   

• Lake Land College Navigator News Wins Awards At Illinois Community College Journalism Award Ceremony (effinghamradio.com) — Lake Land College’s Navigator News staff, including several Mattoon students, just brought home multiple statewide journalism awards, highlighting strong local talent in reporting, design, and photography. The paper earned honors across news, sports, and editorial categories, plus recognition for overall excellence. Residents can read their work online and see how a Mattoon-based college newsroom stacks up statewide.
