9/11 Ceremony Scheduled In Mokena

The ceremony will mark the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on 9/11.

MOKENA, IL — A public 9/11 ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. Sept. 11 at Pioneer Cemetery in Mokena. The ceremony will mark the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

The ceremony will feature members of the Mokena VFW Post 725, a keynote address by U.S. Air Force Major Gen. Mark W. Anderson (ret.) and remarks by Mokena Mayor Frank Fleischer.

Pioneer Cemetery is located on Wolf Road at Denny Avenue. Parking will be available in the Metra lot just north of the cemetery.
