In honor of the men and women protecting America's freedom and its ideals around the world, two New Lenox-based small businesses have teamed up to offer families in and around New Lenox the opportunity to prepare and professionally videotape a story or message for their loved ones in the U.S. military. This first-ever, just-in-time-for-Christmas event is scheduled to be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at New Lenox Village Hall, 1 Veterans Parkway, New Lenox, IL 60451.
The video story projects will be posted on YouTube, and U.S. military personnel can capture it on the Internet. It's the next best thing to a hug from home.
Operation Holiday Message for the Troops is sponsored by Family Back Stories, a company that prepares life story heirloom projects along with marketing materials, and produced by Wild West Online Productions, an Internet marketing agency that focuses on Web development and social media campaigns.

Like the secret in the famous movie, "White Christmas," don't breathe a word to the general or any other military personnel overseas. It's a surprise!
The Village of New Lenox, also known as the Home of Proud Americans, is a proud supporter of Operation Holiday Message for the Troops.
