Audition for Shrek the Musical at Curtain Call

Live music, book sale, the Beatles and other things to do this weekend in the L-Way area.

Saturday

Shrek the Musical – Children’s Auditions – The Curtain Call Warehouse Theater is holding auditions this weekend for their next musical. Children grades 4-8 can audition between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at 12535 Old Plank Drive in New Lenox. Parents’ permission is required.

David Molinari @ the Mokena Downtown Market – Listen to oldies, standards and even Spanish songs by David Molinari at 11 a.m. on Wolf Road and Front Street.

Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale – Pad your home library with books from the Mokena Community Public Library, 11327 195th St., from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. and join the Friends of the Library program.

Jim Witter: The Long and Winding Road (Concert Performance) – Come to Governors State University’s Center for Performing Arts, 1 University Parkway, at 8 p.m. for an intriguing look at the Beatles through a unique multimedia presentation. Tickets are $25, $20 for seniors and $15 for students, and are available online.

Art Studio: Drawing Basics – Stop by the Frankfort Public Library, 21119 S. Pfeiffer Road, at 2 p.m. to learn ways to brush up on your picture-making skills with tips from local artist Ben Salus. Registration is required.

Shrek the Musical - Adult Auditions – The Curtain Call Warehouse Theater is holding auditions this weekend for their next musical. Adults ages 14-99 can audition from noon to 4 p.m. at 12535 Old Plank Drive. Parents’ permission is required for everyone under age 18.
