Children's Business Fair Focuses On Young Mokena Entrepreneurs

The inaugural event will be held April 1 and is open to kids under 18 and gives them the opportunity to create and run a business for a day.

MOKENA, IL — Young Mokena residents who have dreams of one day running their own business — perhaps at a younger age than normal — now have an opportunity to showcase their skills at an upcoming business fair.

The inaugural Mokena Children’s Business Fair will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on April 1 at Grace Fellowship Church of Mokena. The event is free and open to all children interesting in creating and running their own business for a day.

The church is located at 11049 W. La Porte Road in Mokena.

All entries will be automatically entered in the business competition, and booths will be judged on a variety of criteria, according to organizers. The winner in each category and age group will receive a prize.

If local residents are interested in being a vendor, they can register by clicking here. Organizers said business examples include baked goods, face painting, crafts, magic tricks, hair braiding, slime, and photography. Anyone under the age of 18 is eligible to participate.
