​Construction On LaGrange Road In Mokena Begins In Early June

MOKENA, IL - A construction project on LaGrange Road near Interstate 80 will take up most of the summer, officials in Mokena said in a newsletter to residents on Thursday. An Illinois Department of Transportation project to make traffic improvements on the thoroughfare north of 191st Street in Mokena will begin the week of Monday, June 4.

Temporary lane closures will be in place throughout the project, which is likely to have a significant impact on traffic in the area.

Work performed will include earth embankment removal and replacement, shoulder replacement, guardrail replacement, drainage improvements, and site restoration.

Village officials have recommended Mokena residents use other roads to reach I-80 and 191st Street such as Harlem Avenue.
