Forest Preserve District Closed For Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday
Employees are off, but all preserves, trails, dog parks, parking lots and latrines will remain open.
Forest Preserve employees will be off on Monday, January 18, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday; however, all preserves, trails, dog parks, parking lots and latrines will remain open.
While most Forest Preserve visitor centers have been closed to the public since Friday, November 20, as part of the state's Tier 3 COVID-19 mitigation efforts, staff have been working remotely or in buildings while following all health protocols to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus. Sugar Creek Administration Center reopened to the public on Monday, January 4.
