Forest Preserve District Closes For Thanksgiving Holiday

The Forest Preserve District will close beginning at noon on Wednesday through Friday.

The Forest Preserve District will close for the Thanksgiving holiday beginning at noon on Wednesday through Friday, November 27.

Employees will be off for the holiday; however, all preserves, trails, dog parks, parking lots and latrines will remain open.

While Forest Preserve visitor centers have been closed to the public since Friday, November 20, as part of the state's Tier 3 COVID-19 mitigation efforts, staff have been working remotely or in buildings while following all health protocols to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

After the Thanksgiving holiday, staff will be once again available for all Forest Preserve services via phones, email and the website. Virtual Zoom programs and small in-person outdoor programs will continue to be held. The program schedule is available on the Event Calendar.
