Forest Preserves To Close For Christmas

The Forest Preserve District's preserves, including dog parks, will be closed on Friday.

The Forest Preserve District's preserves, including dog parks, will be closed on Friday, December 25, for the Christmas holiday. Christmas is the only day that the preserves are closed throughout the year. Most employees will be off from noon Thursday, December 24, through Friday, December 25.

While Forest Preserve visitor centers have been closed to the public since Friday, November 20, as part of the state's Tier 3 COVID-19 mitigation efforts, staff have been working remotely or in buildings while following all health protocols to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.
