Hog Wild Express In Mokena Permanently Closing Sunday

The restaurant's last day in Mokena will be Saturday. It will now focus on its Midlothian location where "the brand was born."

MOKENA, IL — The village of Mokena will have one fewer barbecue spots in town come Sunday. That's because Hog Wild Express, located inside the Gas N Wash at 19990 S. LaGrange Road, is closing for good. Saturday will be the final day the Mokena location will be open.

Hog Wild Express made the announcement on its Facebook page. The post stated that the restaurant will focus on its Midlothian location, at 14933 S. Pulaski Road, where "the brand was born."

"To all of our Hog Wild Family, after careful consideration and with heavy hearts we have made the decision to close the Hog Wild Express location in Mokena," the post read.

The post went on to thank the community for its support over the past four years.

"First of all I’d like to take the time to say Thank you to the Community out here in Will County and Lenny’s Gas n Wash, who went above and beyond the duties of a landlord and was amazing to work with," the post stated. "If you ever get the opportunity to work with Lenny and his team do not pass it up. I took a leap of faith 4 years ago and most of you welcomed us with open arms and supported us the entire way."

The Midlothian location, called The Original Hog Wild, will honor any gift cards for the restaurant, according to the post. Food truck events will continue, as well.
