MOKENA, IL — After two years of cancellations and modifications, residents in cities and counties across the country are looking forward to many of the traditional Independence Day activities that mark the summer holiday. July 4 is tomorrow, so there’s still time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you in 2022.

We have all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Mokena so you can start planning now.

Mokena Chamber of Commerce 4th of July Parade

The parade is scheduled to step off at 10 a.m. July 4 from Mokena Street at LaPorte Road. The route will head west on LaPorte Road to Wolf Road, then head north on Wolf Road and ends at Granite Drive.

Mokena Chamber of Commerce Members, non-profit organizations and private citizens can register for free to participate in the parade. There is a $125 entry fee for non-Chamber member businesses and political entries. Registration for the parade is due by June 24. Follow this link to fill out submit a registration online.

Village of Mokena 4th of July Fireworks

Fireworks at back this year at Main Park, 10925 W. LaPorte Road. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at dusk. Admission is free for fireworks.
