Lightning Sparks Barn Blaze on 179th Street and Will-Cook

Mokena Firefighters Wednesday doused a mid-morning barn blaze at 179th Street and Will-Cook Road.

Lightning struck a barn about 10 a.m. Wednesday at 17th Street and Will-Cook Road. No injuries were reported.

The Mokena Fire Protection District doused a blaze that burned a section of the roof on a barn. Fire Chief Howard Stephens said he had no ready information on the amount of damage caused by the fire.
